Oh, that type of comment just burns me!!! My Dad once pointed to someone and referred to them as ‘that 300lb elephant’. I just looked at him and said ‘thanks a lot!’ and walked away!!
Well it is good that you could have the satisfaction of telling her that if they didn’t fit her they weren’t going to fit you either..
Next time say, “Man, look at me! You’d be lucky if I could use one leg of those pants as a dress. Thanks but I think they belong at Goodwill.”

I HATE that!!! My mom tries to pass off her clothes to me that she doesn’t want anymore!!! She is like 100 lbs. heavier than me! I know she doesn’t think I can fit into her clothes!!! I think my mom is truly jealous that I have lost and still losing weight and wants me to feel bad……that is just the way she is!!!
Why can’t people just be happy that we are trying to better our lives and be healthy!!!???

Love my mother-in-law. She rarely calls, visits once a year for 3-4 days and lives 1000 miles away.
As far as my MIL she is too sweet. Everytime I say something about being fat she says no you’re not, I think she needs stronger glasses if she thinks that. Now as far as my my mom giving me clothes that would never happen. My mom is a little tiny thing I would be lucky to get a leg in her clothes. I think she is a size 5. Take it easy and give your MIL allthe clothes that are too big for you. HEHEHE she is just jealous that you are losing the weight.
I cant believe that. Some people just dont think before they talk. I think she is jealous. lol. j/k. Im glad you were nice though and didnt tell her the reality behind it. It might have hurt her feelings. I also watch what I say to my mother-in-law, I think she does the same for me.
