Boy, I’m a barrel of monkey’s, huh?

I hate the lows that can get you in this diet game.  One minute your upbeat and ready to go and the next, you feel like blah.  I know I have to keep working out.  I’m not gonna stop.  I have been doing my very, very best for the last 6 weeks.  No cheating.  Don’t even want to cheat.  I feel proud when I turn stuff away.  But, I’m like my own worst enemy.  I see the negative.  Like my belly still there or my back still rounded.  I already tell myself that I won’t meet my own personal goal this week or only lose one pound after all that work.  I have to constantly remind myself that I have come along way and to stay focused.  I just wish there was a guarantee.  Like, if you do this and that for this many times a week, your guaranteed to lose x amount of pounds.  But, it’s not like that.  I was thinking that a diet is like a guy you really like.  One day he likes you and calls you and wants to be with you.  And then just when you think you got him, he doesn’t call or he gives you weird clues like he’s not interested.  To me the diet is the same.  One week your body loves you, lets you lose all this weight and maybe the next, it doesn’t love you so much and gives you a little bit.  Stupid huh?  Maybe I’m not great with analogies.  Anyway, feeling a little blah.  Monday’s are usually very motivating days but by Friday, I’m beat.  Maybe I’m just tired…..  Boy, I sound fun tonight, huh?

I know exactly what you mean. I feel the same way. I would like gaurentees also. If I do A,B &C faithfully why can’t I get D. It just doesn’t work that way. Sometimes it does and then in those weeks we may even get D,E,&F. Make sence? I’m the smae way. Motivation all the way on Monday. My problem is I let everyone elses schedule take priority. I’m beginning to see this now and know how important it is to put my exercise in my date book and keep it as an appointment. I’m really going to strive for that this week. Here’s to a great A, B, & C week regardless of the outcome.

Honey. I think you sound normal…

I have been on this journey for THREE YEARS…And I have learned the biggest lesson of all…

About 95% of this game, is MENTAL…

And it sucks. And it throws you for a loop, but, if you acknowledge that, it gets a little easier…

In the end, you will defeat the mental demons, WE ALL WILL, if we want it bad enough…I know you do…I do too!!!!

Wallow for a minute if thats what you need, then shake it off and keep on keepin on, even if your heart is not in it, because before you know it, it will be, and you will be thinking once again how damn smokin hot you look these days!!!

    Take care you-

    Dawn

Ok WW…take a good hard look at yourself…no silly, not in the mirror, mentally!!!!  What do you see?  What do you want?  How bad do you want it?

If you want it as bad as you say you do, nothing will stop you from getting there.

Sometimes you have to change up your plan or routine.  Sometimes you have to give your body something new, something different, so it doesn’t settle back into the same old rut!

You don’t like to watch the same old movie over and over and over again, do you?  You don’t like to wear the same dress or jeans or blouse every single day, do you?  Well, your body likes a change in routine once in a while, too.

I thought this was a great analogy….freakin’ men!!    I know exactly what you mean WW but I guess it’s like finding the right man…if you feel in your heart (if you want the weight loss bad enough) you have faith he’ll come around.  Your body will come around but the reality (that I’ve grown to accept) is that the body will do what the body will do.  You’re doing so great on your journey and unless you’ve hit a plateu……I think you should keep keepin’ on……and if you’ve hit a plateau, I’d do what Mary says and change things up a little……..
